With the variety of ecosystems in and around BCNS, instructional opportunities abound. Here is a short list of activities commonly conducted by teachers who have brought their students to BCNS:
Ecosystem analysis in prairie, forest, and pond
Critter collection and identification with sweep nets and aquatic nets
Journaling at one of the outdoor classrooms or ecosystems
Outdoor skills including outdoor cooking, hiking, fishing, paddle sports, and archery
Primitive skills such as fire-making and atl atl
